The Little Games I play!

Since now I can crawl on my tummy and pull my self up on my legs with support…I have to reach out to each and everything in the vicinity. The result, I have a new game to play each day! My hands are out to grasp all things and it’s a delight to hear different sounds. I generally avoid playing with the normal –routine toys that are lying around and prefer the daily household things. Did you know they have so many different uses? I bet you never thought about it.

You can use your father’s belt or the car keys or the TV remotes, mobile phones, bathroom slippers, bowls and glasses to play. They are so much more fun than your boring rattlers!

I enjoy standing on the bed with the support of the bedpost and looking out of the window. I stand there and scream my head out on full volume. Occasionally I turn to check if my grandparents are around, else I have to cry out loud to get their attention back on me!

I can walk with support, so I pull my self up and hold on to the chair tight, then I push it around and walk along singing…which again is basically blabbering but the tone is slightly high pitched here so it may be classified as singing.

If my mom makes me sit at the window sill, I enjoy hearing the wind chime tinkle. But at times when it does jingle, I hold on to the curtain tight and pull on to it, so that the bells ring. The music makes me drop my jaws in amusement! I keep repeating the same over and over and get a thrill out of it.

If my mom has some work in the kitchen, she sees to it I sit around, but sitting still is just not in my genes and I need things to bang or pull out. If it’s the drawer near by, I have to inspect its contents one by one. Although it’s a tedious task, pulling out things one by one but I manage to accomplish the mission in no time and create a little mess around for my mom to clear later. If she gives me some utensils to play, I love it when they spin on their base. Its tough for me to do it myself, so mom does it for me and this leaves me laughing for hours together.

If I am left alone to play on my bouncer chair, my mission is to pull out the danglers. Earlier I couldn’t manage to reach out to them with my hands, so pulled them down with my feet. But now, it takes me seconds to pull them out and then I try to pull my self up, so I can stand on the chair. This does freak my mother out since the chair rocks, but again as I said, sitting still is just not in my genes!

At times I do manage to get hold of the day’s newspaper as well that is if my mom has not already put it in the recycle-bin. Tearing it to shreds is so much fun! I pull on to the sheets and crush them under my hands. At times if the paper is big, I also use my feet to destroy it and crumple it and then my mom helps me give it the final finishing touch by rolling it up into a ball for me to play. At the end I have a smug smile on my!

I also get to sit in front of the cupboard and pull out clothes, my parents do get exasperated as most of the times, I manage to lay my hands on clothes that are just back from the laundry; neatly washed and ironed. So you can imagine their displeasure as all effort is wasted, but well I am too small to understand all this and who told them to let me sit there in the first place? I didn’t!

When I go to the garden in evenings, I get to sit on the slide and the rocking horse and merry-go-round. These days the elder kids also let me sit on their cycle and I get to press the horn!!!

Man, its so much fun, so many new games to play everyday.
