My frien Kannudo:)

I like Bheem a lot..Enjoy watching the cartoons & repeats on TV.But these days I also enjoy hearing stories about Kanna and his friends.

My favourite story was about how little Kanna would steal makhan with his friends and then everybody would come and complain to joja maiya (my little one's way of addressing yashoda maiya).

The glitter in his eye everytime  I told this story was unmistakable, as if he had in mind to steal some from the nearby houses himself ☺.
Although he is more of a curd theif than makhan!

For Janmashtmi my mother got a peacock feather designed box...so this little boy walks upto the temple in the house, hiding the box behind him.He innocently walked up to the Lord Krishan diety and goes," Happy Birthday Kanna, I have a surprise for you. Look there and boo...pops out the box from behind with a huge cry of surprise...your birthday gift."
Looking at this pure exchange of love left me amazed.

Only a child can relate to God in this unique manner, treating the Lord more as a friend rather than an avenue to attain things.

Habits that I have picked up from my parents!

They observe and really observe hard picking up little habits and frequently used phrases which are then appropriately used when the occasion demands!

My little fellow strategically uses," Now nothing can be done!"

Point out a mistake that he has committed, a little delay in reaching for appointments, missing out carrying stuff for outings are emphatically met with one statement - Mummy,ab kuch nahi ho sakta! :)

Several habits they unconsciouly pick up, so you really have to be cautious about what you speak around them!

A lovely Poem

My son enjoys dance and music a lot...a small poem that he has been singing recently -

Have you found your sunshine smile?
Wherever you will go,Gods goodness you will sow...
So,have you found your sunshine smile?

If I look at him and tell him...yes the smile is right here...there is a delight in his eyes...

Pure innocence reflecting in his happiness as he is the reason for my smile!

I learnt to Cycle!

My boy is a big boy! You suddenly get this realization when he progresses from a tricycle to a big cycle and finally instructs you to remove the side support wheels :)

So this fellow in all enthusiasm seeing one of his friends driving on two wheels instructs me on immediate basis to execute the task of removing the support wheels of his cycle, even though his feet don't touch the floor!

But mama, I am a big boy and can manage so please!!!

The process begins-

The ride is punctuated with squeals and laughter and lots of screams and don't let go pleads, followed by hold me, let me drive fast and wow....I am driving on my own!
This warrants lots of congratulations, kisses, hugs and the final show off session to papa...see I can drive :)

How he loves the independence and the fact that he has picked up cycling!

There are many such things which he would eventually learn, each followed by the same level of enthusiasm, but as of now, he is so happy with his current achievement :)

Like father,like son :)

I always thought my boy was more attached to me...but I just realized apart from the looks of his father he has also adopted his fathers mannerisms, eating habits, sleeping habits,TV habits and all other habits you can think of!

He wants to dress like the father, drive a car like the father and even taken to sports like his father so he may win medals like his father...

He looks upto his father for everything...opinions & thoughts.

Recently my husband was a part of stepthon a walking initiative of 10000 steps per day.My son, took to observing the pedometer to monitor the daily steps, following his father here and there & then started telling me "we still have 3000 steps left for the day",encouraging me to walk along :)

When my husband dresses for his cricket practice my little hero needs the same attire down to the colour of the socks!

He wants to put on his dad's cuff links, shoes and drive down to town.

Dad is the one who teaches him about car's, sports and many such tidbits where I am totally clueless...

But the best part is I am included in the family hug time...so you know he loves me as well! :)

Formal Schooling Begins

My son starts his formal schooling years...enters the routine of school dress, school bags, black polished shoes, bus and all things related to it...

I am apprehensive, oh very much but is my boy loving it? Thrilled is the word! There is an excitement each day as he begins early in the morning :)

School has bought about lots of positivism and knowledge & understanding for things. He has never been a fussy eater and now he is all the more careful as he has learnt the basics of JUNK food and HEALTHY food.

Lots of fun activities include the bus journey, bus snack, colouring in school and new friends.

The associated school extra curricular activities also make him happy and overall he is having a grand time!

Hope this happiness continues throughout or maybe once the homework starts the body aches and tiredness start :)

My Friends...

My boy has a best friend,a brother friend,a good friend...and several other categories of friends...but they all his friends!

Childhood friendship is such an amazing thing, its just so pure & innocent.Their games are silly but so funny....hugging & crushing, throw & fetch, mummy & baby, hanging from bars like a monkey to become a tall boy, cycling and all time favourite car race.

I fail to understand the relationship between boys and cars, but you leave a bunch of them together and you're free for hours :)

He meets in friends in school and the chit chat starts right at the time of boarding the bus...with so many important things to discuss about the day gone by.

Evenings are spent running around here & there, playing, hearing stories from one of the mom's or cycling...a peaceful existence with friends!

Life's joy...our friends...the best part about childhood days!

I am 3!!!

My boy is 3 years, time flies...He is so big now, understanding n number of things, having his own circle of friends & trying to take his own decisions, provided his bossy mother doesn't interfer.

He is developing his vocabulary and makes a complete attempt to converse with us in high end English and ends up sounding adorable.

He has an opinion about things & wants to be a part of all our conversations...wanting to know this & that.

Everyday with him leaves me amazed as I wonder where did he learn this from or whom did he pick this up from.

He & his set of close friends have their own set of coversation & important discussion wherein we are not privy of the same....

How they grow up so fast has left me amazed...he doesn't fit into my arms any more...my little tall boy!
